6 Throwback Beauty Favourites

Going through my beauty stash and digging out my old favourite products is one of my favourite things to do. When trailing and testing out new items it can be easy for old favourites to get pushed to the back and lay forgotten and I've got 6 of my latest rediscoveries to share with you today.

CLINIQUE SUPERPRIMER: My skin is less than happy right now and I've been struggling with breakouts due to a poor diet, damn you Roses Strawberry Dreams. Whilst the sensible thing to do would be to cut back on my consumption of them, it's the festive period and they are a dietary staple. So to help take out the sting of redness, I've been reaching for the Clinique Superprimer. Whilst it doesn't take the redness away completely, it definitely helps to distinguish it slightly, as well as prepping the skin for makeup. It only increases the wear time of my base by a small amount but it smoothes out the skin making a more perfect canvas for anything, I might apply over the top.

STILA CONVERTIBLE COLOUR IN LILIUM: I'm blush obsessed, sometimes I wish I had 50 pairs of cheeks so I could make use of them all, but sadly, I don't. The Stila Convertible Colour blushes are some of my favourites out there, they are a beautiful cream formula, that add instant life and definition to the skin. As my skin tends to be a little drier in the colder months, as cream blush formulation tends to be a lot more forgiving on a lacklustre complexion.

MAC LIPSTICK IN CREME CUP: When I first got really into beauty blogging, this was one of the first high-end lipstick purchases I ever made. Creme Cup is such a pretty shade, if you want to go for a pink that isn't horrifically garish or unflattering against pale skin tones, which many pinks can do. I don't find the wear time of MAC lipsticks to be incredible as they are so creamy in formulation, but this shade wears down evenly. I tend to wear it as more of a stain than an opaque wash of colour. Of course, the best thing about MAC lipsticks is that they smell like vanilla cake.

ESSIE BAHAMA MAMA: I'm not very seasonal when it comes to my nail shades, but Bahama Mama is something that I reach for. It's a beautiful deep purple that is incredibly flattering on pale skin. As always the Essie formula is a complete dream and especially with the darker shades, I find that they can last a solid week with minimal chipping. This shade always goes perfectly with gold glitter shades.

MARC JACOBS DAISY DREAM*: I seem to have gone a complete 180 with my fragrance choice, as this definitely isn't A/W appropriate, but it's still lovely. It's a very sweet scent that still has the hint of sophistication that the original Marc Jacobs Daisy has. The top note is blackberry which definitely adds a little bit of sharpness to it. I always find MJ scents to last really well on my skin and I can still smell it at the end of the day.

LORD & BERRY KISSABLE LIP LINER IN BLOSSOM*: Lipliners used to be my go to over a lipstick. I find them so fuss free and easy to wear, that they are the perfect lazy girl option. It's a shame that this exact shade and formula have been discontinued as it's the perfect brown toned rose shade I've ever found. Lip liners are notorious for being drying on the lips, but this is oddly nourishing and it's easy to apply on the lips, but it's not so soft that it doesn't give a precise finish. It lives up to the claim of being 'kissable' and is incredibly long wearing without going patchy or wearing unevenly. I've been wearing this either completely alone or underneath a tinted lip balm to give it a little more longevity and it's been perfect for making a little more of a statement with my lip look, without being too much hard work to upkeep.
