September In Beauty
-this post contains PR samples-
I went into September feeling fresh and full of excitement as even though I’ve been out of education for seven years I still get that back to school feeling that the vast majority of us love. And I’m happy to say that I’m coming out of the month feeling the exact same way and I’ve got some great new beauty products in my rotation as well as two rediscoveries that I’m excited to share with you today.
The Daily Essentials I'm Obsessed With Right Now
As my life ebbs and flows, I depend on different things to get me through the day seamlessly. And finding those daily essentials that make your day either easier or a whole lot more enjoyable is such a wonderful feeling and these are my daily essentials right now.
My Top 18 TV Shows
Discovering and binge-watching a new tv show is something that I love doing. And over the years, there have been so many shows that have become a huge part of my life and they’re often things that I come back to time and time again and they are;
The Practical Style Staples I'd Recommend To Anyone
Over the years, my style has changed a lot inline with much my life has changed and I never thought practicality would be at the top of my requirements when it came to when buying something new but now it certainly is. For years, I was the girl who wore ballet flats and a leather jacket when the temperatures were in the minuses and there was ice on the ground so it’s fair to say I’ve not always put common sense or practicality first but now it's a priority. Finding style pieces that make me feel awesome as well as being fit for purpose isn’t always the easiest to find but the pieces I do have in my wardrobe that fit that bill are things that I wear all the time and are things that I’d recommend to anybody.
A Look Back Through My Beauty Archives
For a long time, this little corner of the internet was 90% about beauty and my love for makeup and skincare is still something I write about now. And over the past eight years I’ve certainly tried a huge number beauty products and shared my thoughts on them, some of them I still use to this day and some I’ve not returned back to for one reason or another. So I thought today I’d go back through my beauty archives and see what I wrote about the most and how my relationship has changed with those products, some of you might have even been around for those first posts which is pretty incredible.
Everything I've Learnt Being A Worrier
Worrying has been part of my life for well, forever. I honestly think I might have been born worrying and for a long time, I thought it was completely normal to over analyse and hold onto situations for months upon months. And it’s safe to safe that’s certainly not a normal way to go through life but when you don’t know anything different then that becomes your normal. It wasn’t until I reached my mid-twenties did I realise just how much worrying was effecting my day to day life and this is everything all those years of worrying taught me.
An Autumn To-Do List
This year I’m doing the colder seasons differently, instead of dreading them like I usually do I’m trying my best to embrace and make the most of them. And Autumn is undeniably one of the most beautiful seasons, the cold chill in the air, the leaves falling and turning golden brown and the cosiness that comes with pulling your favourite jumper is all something I think we can agree is good for the soul and these are some of the other things that I’ll be doing this season.
Breakout Busters
-post contains gifted items-
Apart from the couple of monthly hormonal spots that erupt on my chin, I’m happy to say that large painful to touch breakouts seem to be a thing of the past for me. Which I’m so incredibly thankful for, one of the reasons that this blog exists is because I was suffering from cystic acne and was so desperate to try and get rid of it. So to say I’m generally spot-free over 8 years later and that is not something I ever thought I’d be writing. And whilst I am generally spot-free I do have a few products that I like to turn to when I can feel one about pop and the line up looks a little something like this.
So, I Tried Period Pants
-post contains gifted items-
A while ago I wrote a post all about the areas of my life where I’m trying to be more sustainable and one of those areas was my period. A topic that I don’t discuss online as generally, I don’t feel like I have much to add to the conversation as I’m lucky with my cycle. However, it is part of my life where I felt like I could improve when it came to being kinder to the planet. And for my last two periods, I’ve been giving the Modibodi period underwear a try and this is how I’ve found it.
