A November To-Do List
It’s hard to believe that we’ve only got 60ish days left of 2019. It’s been a strange year and not what I expected at all, it feels like the last 10 months has been all about finding a routine and knowing where I want to be headed work-wise and it’s felt so very necessary. I’m super excited to be heading into a new decade, but I’m desperately trying not to wish time away as it already passes us by at such a terrifying rate and I feel like we’ll be halfway through 2020 soon enough. All that being said this is what I’d like to achieve in one of the final months of the year before we enter the crazy festive season.
Why Exploring Nature is Important For My Wellness| AD
-paid collaboration with FitFlop-
My love for getting outside is well documented on this little corner of the internet as it’s such a big part of my life. It’s a running joke in our household that I’m just like our dogs Josie and Edie as much like them I have to get outside every day to feel better mentally as well as physically. When it comes to getting outside in the colder months I have to confess the urge to explore drops a little for me as it’s cold, more than likely raining and it’s not as appealing as it is in spring and summer when you can bask in the warmth of the sun and appreciate everything coming into bloom. But, there is a different kind of beauty to embrace when it comes to A/W and I think it’s even more important to make sure you’re still getting outside and seeing somewhere new, you’ve just got to be well prepared.
5 Things That Are Making Me Really Happy At The Moment
Despite October being quite possibly the most miserable start to autumn ever I’m pretty chipper at the moment which certainly isn’t the norm for me when the colder months come around. I’m working hard to change my mindset now we’re getting into A/W and instead of it being all doom and gloom with a ridiculous amount of rain and it getting dark earlier and earlier. There are plenty of things to look forward to when the seasons change and this is what is making me happy right now.
The Lazy Girls Eyeshadow Essentials
-this post contains gifted PR products-
A product that I absolutely love to wear and never skip is eyeshadow. But, truth be told…I’m terrible at applying it and have absolutely no skills when it comes to creating a beautifully defined eye look and stick to one wash wonders. So that means I typically go for products that can easily be used alone which means they have to be the best of the best. It’s taken me a long time to find those products that work without question but I finally have and these are my favourites for the lazy girl who loves eyeshadow.
How & Why I'm Shopping Less Than Ever
Shopping used to be such a big part of my life, I would countdown the days until payday or even better student loan day as I knew that I could go out and go shopping. For so long I was an emotional shopper and relied on the after purchase high to deal with anything going on in my life and it’s taken me a long time to work on my relationship with money and material items but I think I’ve finally made progress. This year, I’ve shopped less than ever before and it’s been a really good thing and this how I’ve done it.
Why I'm Avoiding Burn Out As Much As Possible & Time Management Lessons
Burnout is something that I’ve experienced so many times and every single time I tell myself that is the last time that it will happen. Inevitably it always happens again and more often than not it’s down to how I’ve managed my time and disregarded my boundaries over anything else. Whether you work for yourself or you work in more of a traditional job setting I think it’s something that we all deal with as there is always so much to do. Lately, I’ve been super busy but for once I’ve managed to avoid the burnout that I would typically face and this is how I’ve done it.
Your Weekend Reading, Watch & Listen List #13
Happy Friday! I hope everyone is having a great October so far? I must apologise for my lack of posts this month, I’ve had a few photography projects (yay) that have been taking up all my time and even though I’ve loved every second of it I’ve missed having the time to be able to create blog posts so I’m coming back with an almighty weekend reading list.
A Look Back Through My Skincare Archives
A couple of weeks ago I went back through my beauty archives and looked back through what I loved and used for many years and if I still use them now. I thought it would be interesting to do it with my skincare posts too as looking back I’ve written hundreds and hundreds of post on what products I was loving at the time. I never thought I would feel as passionate about skincare as I do make-up but to be honest, I think I love it even more. Taking good care of my canvas is incredibly important to me, especially as I’ve got older and realised just how much can affect it. So here’s a little look back through my skincare archives and whether or not I still reach for these products now.
Why I'm Still Putting My Eggs In The Blogging Basket
Every other week there is another post that gets published about it being the end of days for the blogging world. And there is no denying, the blogging world is much slower now but dying? Certainly not. I’m now entering my ninth year of creating content on this corner of the internet but I’ve had a blog in some sort of way for nearly 14 years now and I hope I always will in some capacity. Whilst many have jumped ship and put their focus on YouTube and Instagram I’m still very much focused on my blog and this is why.
